When my brother was 17 he got arrested for assault but the charges were dropped to a mister minor. Before that he’s never got in trouble with the law and ever sins his rest he has never got in trouble again. He’s 21 right now, and he’s going to college to become a police officer. Would he be able to get a job?

I knwo here in Houston for animal cop you cant have anything on your record for 10 years. I suggest he look at the requiements in the county/city where he wants to be police oficer, they should have some sort of web page where he can research that

Yes, he can still become a cop. Anything a juvenile does will be put in his juvenile record and closed when he becomes an adult. He will be able to get a job as long as he passes his police training and stays on the good side of the law.

He definitely can still be an aplpicant. However, a misdeaminor is going to be a noticeable blemish. Law enforcement jobs are competitive. Ex-military with honorable discharges, medals, and no criminal records pursue that field as well.

Since the charges were dropped, he shouldn't have a problem, the best thing for him to do is be open and honest when he starts filling out applications, btw it's misdemeanor.

He might need a waiver but he is not a professional criminal and the background check would possibly come up with the arrest but he wasn't prosecuted so I think he should apply.

Juvenal records are supposed to be stricken when one turns 18. I think he can still become a cop if he has the right stuff.

As long as he qualifies in every other way he won't have a problem. A lot of former criminals have become police officers.

In this case where the charges are a misdemeaner,as long as he marks them on his application,he shouldn't have a problem.
