I heard somebody talking about hotkeys.What are they?

Hotkeys are one or two key shortcuts. Usually you set them up to run a macro of some sort. Like shift F7 could be fill in with my auto signature. Some Hotkeys already exist in certain programs like Word for cut or paste and they are listed with the command in the drop down menu.

Shortcut keys. For example the flag on your keyboard is the button to open up your start menu. Or for mac f12 is to open up dashboard.
