Blood elves and Draeinei's are only available when you have the Burning Crusade expansion. You also cant travel to their home lands either.

to be able to play a blood elf you must buy the expansion Burning Crusade and you must also keep paying for you account. DUH!!! (more to me than you) but you cannot do anything featured in Burning Crusade without owning the game, if you want to go to the store its only like $50.00 thats easy to get that much money.

no. you need to get the expansion pack.
Instead of buying a hard copy, you can also download the expansion from Blizzard. You still need to purchase a key code from them though.

I believe you HAVE to have the expansion pack... as it is new content and of course they want you to pay for it! :)
