Maybe she is just waiting for the mailman. She can get a bigger "chomp" with a surprise attack.

Well, I assume if you fed her the other day, you will need to feed her again in a few more days and that is the right way to do it, just to keep your dog in shape, the reason for her to hide in the mail box is probably Al Gore's Global Warming..☺

manz...you might have a problem,
survey a while when does your dog leave the dog house to go to the mail box (it must be a small - med size dog i guess)
sometimes it might be because the dog house is too cold, put a blanket or 2 pillows in there (water proof material), might help.
if it's not often, that might be the case.
