You are not poor, you are just lower middle class.
The Lower Middle Class has enough money for food and clothes from Wal-Mart.
The poor need to be thirfty in their spending habits(like not getting all of the ensential foods or like getting used clothes that don't look brand new).
If you say that the food in ur are is expensive, then where do u live???
If u live in California, then I feel bad for u, as everything there is double the price everywhere else.
Anyways, just tell ur daughter that u r saying ur money so that they can take a vacation to Walt Disney World(or something around that).

Poor are people that have no shelter, food is something that they get once in awhile, clothing is always handmedowns, your medical is the emergency ward at the hospital, you take a bus to work or school and if you have a car it needs work but you can't afford to get it fixed. I lived with the working poor who just barely had these things. Middle Class means you have a sturdy home, food in the frig, clothing you can buy new, medical and dental, income is steady, you have a car that runs well, and you can maintain it. You might be able to go on a vacation occasionally.(we are there now except vacation is every 3 years). Rich, means you have a large home, food in the frig is often cooked by someone other than yourself, clothes are new from high end stores, you have good insurance, the income is steady, you have more than 1 car, mostly 3 or more and you can maintain them. You go on vacations every 3 or 4 months, you own another home to vacation at, you might own a boat too. ( you probably have a large credit card debt)

Well I think that all depends on what you define poor as.
There is a strict economic definition of "poverty" that usually is defined by a level of income ($9,800 for one person, add $3,400 for each person in the family -- this is for the US).
Of course, "poor" is usually more of a relative/descriptive term. To some you might be seen as poor, to others you would not, so again, it is all relative.
While most anyone would probably rather have more money, it sounds like you are doing just fine. As long as you are able to provide for your family, and especially your child, you are probably doing ok.

Wealth is created wherever tools, freedom and initiative exist.
No one who has a mind is poor...as it is literally a priceless power tool, if used prudently.
Being poor is a state of mind, and not a physical circumstance. I sold all I owned a year ago, and now have no property. But I have no bills, either. Am I poor?
If I am, explain why I now am at peace, much healthier, and can attain anything I really desire, swiftly.
The most terrible poverty is when a person or family believes what merchandisers deign to assert as necessities, when in fact, the items are pre-landfill objects, not worth purchasing.
One is rich who has discovered the joys of simplicity. A rich person is nothing but a huge target of thieves, be they elected, or appointed.
To be great, be good.
To be rich, be content.
To be respected, respect yourself.
Teach these things to your dear child, please. The schools won't. (I tried.)

There are many definations for poor. If you are ill a lot then your health is poor. If you have no friends then you are socially poor. If you live below the poverty line, get foodstamps, welfare, and medicade then you are poor.in the UNITED STATES. Noone in the united states except the homeless are poor compaired to other countries in the world. If you live in a shack with no water, electricty, or heat, if your cloths are rags rapped around your body and you go to bed hungary every night then you are truly economically poor.

Ohh I a question I haven't had to answer to my own children yet... but I would have to say being poor isn't about money. Having no family and friends, no loved ones is what makes one poor. Money cannot buy you those things. Having those around you that you love and love you back, are one of the few riches in the world.

well, poor is usually associated with poverty. As in, you have a really hard time and/or cannot make ends meet. If you can supply food, clothing, and shelter without burying yourself in debt...then no, I don't think you would be considered "poor"
the English muffins would just be considered "getting what you really need" rather than just plan desire.
