I absolutely agree that it is a trend amongst celebs. They (Jolie & Madonna) are almost in a fierce competition to see who has more pull of their status.

It is wonderful, that celebs are caring a little more, and not wanting to reproduce when there are thousands of children who could use a home. But if that is the fact as to why they are adopting, then wouldn't you see it more fitting for that celeb to put money towards the village, town in whatever country that will benenfit the population as a whole. Rather than one child being picked, they can do for all the children, or as many as possible.

I am an adoptee myself, and though my circumstances are so much different, I would find it hard to get along in a new country and surroundings, leaving the parents that I have already lived with for a certain amount of time.

It is great that they are doing this, but if they are really wanting to adopt children, don't you think that it should be done at home? There are so many children in Canada and U.S. that don't have family, that are put through the foster care system, and who could possible end up being in trouble most of the time, should look at having a family here. It is sad that the third world countries are facing pandemics, diseases, hunger, and way to many children. They should put that to use here, because we to have the same issues. It is just not so widely publicized as it is from there.

My advice to people like Madonna and Jolie, put their billions of dollars together with Oprah, and help the families start helping themselves and how to raise a healthy family. Then I am sure with the change of life, things just might get better for everyone.

Then join a kaballah or a scientology cult and rant your beliefs jumping on couches and have a baby after wife is pregnant 13 months and the baby looks like a south pacific islander and she is named suri and you praise the allah of scientology. American kids are not worthy of this adoption trend and I can't really complain as after watching "Mommy Dearest" do we really want these people raising our American kids anyway. Yep, adoption is definately the new celeb trend.
