I want to be more like della street on perry mason then a poodle skirt wearing teanager. the fifties were not all poodle skirts

Look for a vintage clothing store in your area. You'll find something there. Pencil (straight ) skirted suits are coming back in style. Some are very similar to what Della Street wore.

I know this is a little vague, but I went to a high school fund raising in Annandale VA a couple years ago to see a band from the fifties. Most of the women are dressed for the band, like the 50's. I learned while I was there that there are many bands around that have a following and they dress for the time, many are from the 50's. Maybe you could research that.

Well...you can go online, there HAS TO BE a great selection of 'different' 50's costume in "cyberspace". It's like searching the whole world! Or you can go to the nearest Halloween Spooky Store. If they have what your looking for, they might know where to look! Hope I helped!

Hit up the vintage shops in your area and talk to the owners . . . a lot of them cater to theaters and might have connections even if they don't have exactly what you are looking for.

go to a place like goodwill you will be amazed at the finding there!!!!!!!!!!
