general contractors go by the hour.if they pay you by the square feet you could get ripped off. so it usually cost some where between $45-60 dollars an hour. If they try to charge you more, look for some where else.

It depends upon what is already there. Is there a concrete or wood base for a floor or will I have to put in a floor. Is there a ceiling and roof or will I have to build a roof? Do they want the porch solid part of the way up or screened all the way floor to ceiling? These variable factors would make a difference.

it would depend on whether or not you supplied the materials or they did.i would charge them same as building a room,because that is basically what it is!
