im a left-hander and i just want to mention how unfairly we get treated. everything is right-handed; scissors, golf clubs, baseball gloves, even my computer mouse. usually it doesn't bother me too much, but i've been put over the edge when i didn't make my high school tennis team BECAUSE i was left-handed. i was more talented than several of the girls who made it, but was cut b/c it would take my coach too much time since he said he'd have to work with me separately on my techinque. To all you lefties out there, are you sick and tired of all this?

Absolutely! I took a big test a few years ago and they did not even have available left handed desks-- they DO exist!
Even cars are discriminatory! What is on the right versus the left?
But we are supposed to be smarter and more creative...

Well, lefties are sinister, however, that does not mean that they should be discriminated against.
Your mouse can be reprogramed for a left handed person very easily. They make scissors, golf clubs and baseball gloves for lefties also.
However, it is not THINGS you are talking about, it is people!
Your coach is being totally unfair, and it is possible you have recourse. You can start with talking to your consoular about it, and then see what happens.
You will not be popular doing this, but it will address the wrong done to you. . .

Hey. I'm a leftie. I learn to cope with everything..and just do everything opposite as everybody else. It works fine for me...but you know..I'm still kinda young..not in High School..so...I don't have anything like that yet..but..I kinda like being left-handed...cuz most people aren't!!

I am right-handed but always wanted to be a leftie just because it is so special. Yes, it's a right-handed world that's unfair to lefties. But remember that you are special!

Yes, I am left-handed as well and that is crap the way you were treated by your coach. I would complain to the principle and take this issue farther if I were you. Left-handed discrimination should be illegal!

man that sucks! I'm sorry to hear it : ( ...well I'm right handed but when I shoot guns or bows I shoot left handed and most of the equipment is at least $100 more...so I know what you're saying!

Well...I'm ambidextrous and I didn't get into the cheerleading team because everybody thought I was left handed...I was really pissed
