Iinjured my collar bone from mountain biking. It was about 2 months ago. Ever since I have been wearing a support -type cast. I am disturbed. It has not healed completely yet and I am desperate to exercise again. Does anyone know if this injury is permanet?

You don't say if the fracture was displaced or just a fracture. My youngest had a fractured clavicle and wore a figure eight clavicle strap for 8 weeks and was ok. Every fracture is different though. Talk to your orthopaedic surgeon and ask a lot of questions about options. Does the fracture site have good callous formation? That is a lump of calcium and bone matter that forms around the fracture site as it heals. That can indicate if you are going to have a non union where the fracture doesn't heal or a mal union where it doesn't line up properly.

I believe it is a injury that you will have for the rest of your life.
