Ask your provider to stop the service tot he phone but to leave your voice mail on. That will allow you to get your messages. If you have insurance for the phone, you will probably need a police report before the company can give you a new one.

The provider can immediately inactivate the phone if you call them. They will want a police report to get you a new phone, but you can get that later, call them right now to avoid being charged for very long distance calls.

Call your cellphone provider and cancel it.
I have Alltel and if you have insurance on your phone through them you can get a new phone free if it is stolen. So check if your provider does that as well.

Call provider, tell them to cancel ur number, AND if you have the 15 digit serial code from ur phone, accessible (the next time) by pressing *#06# , provide that too, that will not only stop ur number, but also will freeze the phone itself to prevent accessing ur phonebook...etc

You probably have to call your cell phone manufacture, and tell them about it, they can probably do something. Minded that who ever took it hasn't taken the Simms card out yet.

Did you call, or e-mail, the cellphone company and ask how to block the phone?
