I have heard of pills that are used to have an abortion if you are pregnant...and you receive them at the hospital or where ever you go if you do not choose a surgical or non- surgical abortion. Are there any risk in taking the pills like there are when you get a sergical abortion? And is it true that they are available besides in hospitals and clinics? I soppose they are espensive right?

You can get these pills through Planned Parenthood or check with your OBGYN. If your doctor doesn't offer them, they will refer you to a clinic or hospital that does. Ask about the differences between the pill & surgerical abortions, including cost. Some insurances do pay for it, but not too many. Check with your insurance provider. I know people who took these. They had to take one at the doctors, then the other a day or two later. They felt horrible. Then others were fine. Everyone reacts differently. I do beleive you can only take the pills up to a certain time (shorter than the surgical procedure).

There are 2 kinds of abortion pills- one the morning after- which has to be taken no longer than 72 hrs after sex. Then very early in the pregnancy you can go to a clinic/hospital and take RU-486. The side effects are many- The RU-486 puts your body in pre-mature labor. The doc will give you a pill and an injection- send you home and hope that you will get back into the office before you go into labor. You were pregnant and hormones are raging- this causes your hormones to completely go crazy- the morning after pill is a very strong dosage of a birth control pill. I do not know how expensive they are, but I do know that they are very costly- first of all it costs the life of your baby- their are as many risks to you as in a surgical procedure. Please do not do this to your child, and to your body. If you want to talk please email me- I want to help you.

Ectopic pregnancy can offer- infertility, sometimes death- infections. Not a good thing,

The Morning After Pill is now available without a doctor's prescription: http://www.getthepill.com/

Basically it is a strong dose of the same hormone found in birth control pills. Some doctors used to recommend taking several BC pills at once. (Get advice from a doctor or pharmacist before trying this on your own.)

Side effects from the "Morning After Pill" may include:
nausea
vomiting
infertility
breast tenderness
ectopic pregnancy (can be life threatening)
blood clot formation

It is about 89% successful in preventing pregnancy IF taken within 72 hours of conception.
