I am having morning/all day sickness. It is not real severe, as in I am not vomitting I just feel like my stomach is doing flips all day. I gets worse when I eat. I feel hungry just any time I eat I get even more sick. I can just eat a few bits and my stomach goes on spin mode. Is it normal to feel hungry but not able to eat? What can I do to stop feeling so sick all day long?!!

I was making my sister jelly cups and bringing her icy-poles. I flavored her water with cordial lime and raspberry. And jelly-beans before I brought her small meals. Usually plain, mash potatoes and carrots. If you try foods that are easy to swallow, if you have to bring them up, it won't hurt your throat and stomach. She found eating a small amount of sugar in the morning settled her stomach enough to each something with salt. Some woman found it the other way around.
Just try your best.
Good luck.

Yes, this is normal. At least you are not vomitting so you are keeping down what you are eating, that is good. Try to continue to drink plenty of fluids even if you don't feel like eating. You don't want to become dehydrated on top of feeling ill. You might want to concentrate on eating several small healthy snacks throughout the day rather than worry about planned meals. A couple whole wheat crackers and cheese... a cup of yogurt... a turkey sandwich... Just small, light minature-meals to keep your energy up and give baby the nutrients he or she needs. Some women also find doing different things like ...sucking on a peppermint candy or chewing gum help the icky-about-to-throw-up feeling. Ginger is also said to help calm upset stomachs... Altoids makes a ginger version of their candies now so you might want to try that. Usually after the first trimester the morning sickness fades away so you hopefully won't have to deal with this your entire pregnancy... just do the best you can do for now and take comfort in knowing that yes, it is normal. :) Good luck!

Well I am going on 4 months now and the thing I did was keep some saltines handy. I also paid close attention to what i crave. There for 3 weeks I could eat nothing but chocolate cerial and salads with Catalina dressing. Then one day I couldn't keep it down. Then switched to something else that I could keep down. Take the process of trying different things that may sound or even smell good and see which one will stay down or atleast keep you from gettin to upset. But it is perfectly normal to feel the way you do. Not all pregnancies are the same. Hell with my 1st child I had nothing and ate everything. With this one it is totally different.

I never threw up but always felt like I was going to when I was around 6-8 weeks, I knew morning sickness was probably going to be a problem so I bought a bottle of ginger ale or sprite and that seemed to work for me! Good Luck & Congrats!

I had the same thing it last four months then I went to just throwing up a couple times a day for the next 6 weeks I finally have stopped. Anyway - there is a presciption called Phenergn (sp) I used it when I absolutely couldn't stand the sickness anymore they really help. They available by presc. only. Talk to your doctor.

What you are experiencing is perfectly normal. What I found to help was eatingsix small meals a day instead of three big ones, also eating a couple saltines first or a glass of ginger ale first. The saltines or ginger ale would calm my stomach enough to eat. Also taking your prenatals at night instead of in the morning can help.

The main cause of morning sickness is a combination of issues related to the chemical changes your body is going through. Mix a pinch of nutmeg powder with a table spoon of gooseberry juice, and take it thrice a day. Sip little by little ginger juice mixed with honey before you get out of bed. This is normal and soon will pass. Try Popsicles, ice cubes, ginger beer (not really beer), I prefered mints and Pepsi. I heard that all the above works. Somebody said eat five small meals, that helps too.
