Movie Editing Program Like Windows Movie Maker?

I've given up on WMM, it crashes once I open it and I can't figure what's wrong with it. Any other good programs?

I found a few free packages after a bit of
looking around. I can't tell you whether they are any good though. I really like Sony Vegas software.

Some of them might not work on Windows Vista yet, though.

All the other free software I know of only runs on Linux, but most of them aren't that great either.
