You can spin anything to be persuasive, really. If you have free reign of ideas, it's much easier if it's something you really care about and know at least a little about. Pick an issue that you're passionate about or would like to research, and just go for it! A current event could be good, since there are always opposing viewpoints and plenty of media coverage.

i just did one in my english class..mine was on global warming....others could be about pets ..why dogs are better than cats or w/e, why to buy from the pound not the pet store...why osu is better than mich or whatever school u like ..talk about sports and athletics ..hope it helps!good luck
