I work with deaf and hearing impaired children. At the beginning of each school year, I go into the classroom and talk to the students about hearing loss and equipment. The children are always very receptive, and ask lots of questions. Seeing how interested the children are always gives my student a positive experience, and before long, they find themselves sitting in the front with me, answering questions and talking. I would suggest you go into your child's classroom and talk about what's about to happen. Talk about what it's for, what she's going to look like that day, and let them know that she doesn't need to be treated any differently. Make sure to make it sound exciting and cool that her doctors get to do an EEG on her. In my situation, the kids don't really understand the whole impact a hearing loss could have, and think it's really cool, and wonder why they can't have their own hearing aid. Remember, it's all about presentation, and educating the kids. They are more apt to make fun of things they don't know much about. Give them knowledge, let them answer their questions, and she should have a postive experience that day. Best of luck!
