What do you think about Al Gore's film (not a documentary) about global warming, "An Inconvenient Truth". Personally I think its a bunch of hogwash and that he is a hypocrite. Did you know that he uses more energy then 10 households? Also he likes to drive SUVs? Does this sound like a worried 'environmentalist? I think not.

It's just like Republicans to begin character assassinate rather than accept the the facts.

Hey Rick, believe it or not either side of the isle is more than willing to practice "character assassination".
However, you are wise to look at both side of the argument and then come to a conclusion. Few people actually take the time to educate themselves on an issue. Good for you.
Also, I do not mean to attack his character, what I am doing is showing that he tells the American people one thing but he goes and does another (hypocracy).

I saw it and compared to the real data it really is hogwash. Too bad all that money and time and bogus awards, as well as all those gallons of plane fuel were wasted trying to politicize the hoax, but at least it took seeing a real hoax in operation to get us thinking about what the agenda is.

So now we know global warming or cooling is not due to humans and that CO2 is not a harmful gas, but you wouldn't believe how many people would've bet their life on the hoax being true. Can't think of a better loser in this than Gore. But don't cry for him. He's made billions.

The movie kinda reminded me of Fahrenheit 911 - a well crafted mixture of lies and partial truths rearranged to give an impression to further an agenda. As usual, the uninformed fell for it again. But I think they're getting smarter. Maybe no one will fall for the next hoax.

It's just like Republicans to begin character assassinate rather than accept the the facts. I think that Gore has been irresponsible to not change his habits before going on a world tour. Nevertheless, he does have the facts right and has created a very informative film.

2006 has been another hot one for the world and most of the warmth has been at the South and North poles. You can see it happening. Americans are too insular to see outside of their own little space. I guess it really doesn't matter what Americans think. Facts tend not to have much affect. There is none so blind as those who will not see.

I have watched this video and it does put up a decent argument that people are contributing to climate change. But sometimes they agree that warming is happening and other times they say it is not. Overall it is quite a question against Al Gore's film. I will now consider changing my mind.

I think he really believes in what he is saying even if he is not that good at leading by example. There are some things in that film which are false and there is some partisan spin to it, but it still has some facts which are true and there is a need to protect our environment.

I think people are making a mistake looking at his private life and discounting the environmental issues, just because Al Gore causes pollution is no reason for me to run out and do the same. And truth be known I actually liked his film, don't agree with everything but I still liked it.

Man-made global warming is a hoax. Click on the following link. It's a link to a documentary titled, "The Great Global Warming Swindle." This documentary exposes the real culprit behind global-warming--our sun.

i didn't like the film because the presentation was all about fear mongering and not really giving me any information that i haven't been hearing since the third grade. he is a hypocrite because of his support of globalization. He may indeed be worried, but i think his tactics are underhanded and sneaky.

I think you have to seperate out the issues. First is his personal life and perceived hypocrisy. To me, that is irrelevant to the presentation of data in his film. Second is the data itself. I found it to be eye-opening and the basis for further investigation. Some of the science presented was quite compelling (the results of CO2 in the ice cores specifically.)

Both of those are debatable points when seperated, but you can't throw out reflection on the data simply because Gore is a hypocrite.

I'd like to see a double feature - his movie, and then a film setting forth the "other side" - and then make up my mind.

I don't have all the facts right now.

How does shooting the messenger change the facts? For decades concerned people have been raising the issue of pollution, and we have continued our consumptive ways.

Do Mr. Gore's weight or personal lifestyle affect the validity of his argument? I suggest that your descent into namecalling and character assassination indicate they do not. If you had a genuine argument, we would have heard it.
