Wow I know what you're going through 'cause I was the addict in our house (not with WoW but with Civilization). I feel your pain. My wife put up w/ my addiction gracefully for too long and becaume very embittered. I would suggest that you talk to him and try to explain that this is really embittering you. If that doesn't work try getting a third party to talk to (counseller). I would suggest that you take care of it as soon as possible b/c it will get even worse w/ the baby being around (he will view WoW as an escape from the responsibilities of fatherhood).

My husband and I play WoW together, but we're not addicted. My brother-in-law was very addicted, however, and he just recently went cold turkey. Got rid of his account, uninstalled the game - DONE! That was the only way he could combat his addiction, as he realized it was really starting to take over his life. I don't know how to get your husband away from the game if he, himself, is not willing to make an effort. I don't see how the baby's going to make a difference - if anything, the stress of having a child might make him want to retreat into his fantasy world even more. You really have to drive the message home that any addiction is destructive - be it alcohol, drugs, or games. He has to WANT to quit, and you can help him with it - but you can't MAKE him quit if he doesn't want to. Perhaps he would agree to go to counseling with you? I don't really know what the solution might be. Good luck.

I do not have an answer for this, but I am going through the same exact thing., except we already have 2 children (3 yr old and 1 yr old). My husband is addicted to several computer games, that he rotates, when he gets tired of one, he goes on to the next. I have tried talking to my husband about it also. I am a stay at home mom and he works. He just says he works a job and can do whatever he wants on his free time. And I need him on his free time to help me so i can have some sanity time also. The kids need him to be a daddy and play with them, not play on the computer and tell them to hush and go away when he gets distracted. I don't know what to do either.

Unfortunately you know this before you got pregnant. Why do you think he's gonna change when another living being comes into the home. I would tell him in a calm manner that you are not going to put up with it, and leave it at that. When the baby comes he may change who knows. But I wouldn't argue about it because he has to want to change you can't make him change just because you're having a child. Best of luck.

My ex-wife was addicted to the internet and chat rooms on aim. I didn't really know how bad it was until I came home from work early one afternoon and found her upstairs with another guy.
My best advice to you is this: Either tell him to give up the games now or you are going to kick him to the curb. Be firm and set a date for him to meet. It may help!!

Like you said, he is addicted. You should sit him down and tell him that he is a family man now and he must curb his hours spent on the games. He can't wait until the baby is born, you need him now. He made a commitment to you when he married you, it's time he makes you his priority.

I wouldn.t care how much the dumb machine costs, but does tripping somewhat with a glass of juice or soda near the video machine sound like an idea. Be dramatic like "I almost killed myself blah, blah ,blah and oops spill and puff ! the machine is gone. Then tell him you're sorry, but can't afford another one with you know, the baby coming and all. lol
Wow, 4 years ! Sorry
