in my opinion its a gross sterotype that can get very annoying.
it can be funny though see people try to be emo.
and its funny what everyone's opinion of "emo" is.
all the time people ask me if i'm "emo" of "goth" and then i laugh because in my opinion i'm not even close to those too things.
well yea i shop at hot topic and listen to music like other "emo" people do.
to tell the truth i don't like lables. they annoy me.
then on the internet you see how fake people can be with screen names like Xemox4xlifeX
funny funny funny.

Emo is just an genre. Not a type of style. Not a type of lifestyle.
It's the most annoying thing in the world when someone say's they're emo.

To the guy above me, that was an INSULT, not an opinion.
Though, for you, I agree. Those damn posers are only "emo" because they think they're "hot" or being Emo is "fun" or "cool" and W/E!!!
But to me, labels are not annoying. They're just like the label that God gave us. BOYS and GIRLS. Now does THAT label annoy you? =?
The ******* posers out there don't know what REAL Emo is. It's either a person who is often depressed or has thought of suicide, or a type of music. there are 2 types of Emo.
Emo aka Emotional
or Emo aka music genre
Plus, Emos are emotional for a REASON. If these people knew what these people are going through, they wouldn't want to insult ANYONE at ALL! What if I had diabetes and that that was the reason I was being Emo!? Would you tell me, "HAHA! YOU HAVE DIABETES!!!"!?
How judgemental people can GET these days...

Most Emo's are fake. If they made all Emo's sign up for the Army and go to Iraq like 90% (or more) of those emo's will stop acting like 1. This would be good for the Army though cause they need more recruits and hey emo people don't you guys just hate life why don't you die as a hero instead of cutting youself.

For what they're going through? Please... don't even get me started. If they had half a clue what real hardship was all about, they wouldn't try to compound it by acting like idiots.
Attention seeking behavior... that's the reason they do they things they do. That's the reason they act all emotional. It has nothing to do with the hardships they face in life.
Believe me, I know what hardships are. I spent most of my childhood being shuffled from foster home to foster home, being beaten, raped, and verbally abused on more than one occasion. Do I dress up like a member of the Adams family? No. Do I constantly whine about how unfair life is? No. Do I spend hours cutting on myself with a razor blade? No.
Why not? Because I learned to deal with my problems in a constructive manner. I decided not to allow the abuse to control my life.
That's what pisses me off about Emos and Goths. They think they have it so bad, and yet if they were forced to endure any real kind of abuse, they would realize how insulting their behavior is towards other people.

FIRST of all, Hot Topic is for people who like those clothes. Second of all, Why do people think cutting is something to make fun of? It's a serious problem, and someone could kill themself. They cut BECAUSE of people who make fun of them like some of the people who commented above. Emo is a genre of music. People with hair in their eyes, are people with hair in their eyes. Don't label them. My opinion is that people who make fun of us are racist. I know, it sounds really stupid...But it's not just the color of someone's skin. It's the way they look in general.
