Shopping: Country Club Plaza is always a great stop! THere's also a place up by the airport called Zona Rosa, and another place out by KCK north of Bonner SPrings, can't think of the name.
Dining: barbecue! Best in the world!
Museums: World War I museum just opened, also a really great ***** Leagues Baseball museum.
Fun Stuff: Strongly recommend taking a tour of Boulevard Brewing Company
Other/Seasonal: KC Farmer's Market is the best in the world! Also, several outdoor theatres and the second largest city park in the US (Swope Park) is a fun place to go too!

If you're traveling on business, and you're bringing a boyfriend, you might be interested in something a little more interesting than shopping. The Crossroads District in downtown Kansas City, Mo offers great art studios and galleries, fine restaurants and cozy bars. Everything is within walking distance, but for a little more adventurous tour, there are segways for hire. There are a variety of hotels, including boutique hotels, and the area is close to the Plaza and Crown Center, and the Liberty Memorial. I hope you enjoy your visit.

Check out the Country Club Plaza, the Westport area, both in Kansas City, Missouri, the Legends over in Kansas City, Kansas. You may want to check out Science City and Crown Center as well.

All of the above are good, but there's one glaring omission if you like movies: the VIP room.
The VIP room is a theater at the Cinemark at Country Club Plaza that seats about 45. Every seat is a leather recliner with a table next to it. Nobody under 21 is allowed, and it has full bar service.
It costs a little more, but is worth every penny. Couple that with dinner at one of the fantastic restaurants on the Plaza, and you'll have a great night out. But -- make reservations!

If you're a shopper, try the Plaza. There is a lot to see there and great places to eat.
If you like to gamble go to North KC and try out Harrahs and The Ameristar -- fun and lots of cool things to do there and excellent resturants at both
If you want theme parks -- OH BABY! Worlds of Fun and Oceans of fun

Our zoo stinks.. don't go there unless Africas exhibit is open (it's open now thru sept I think...), and it's 9.50 a person unless you go on Tuesday, then it's half price.
Nelson Atkins museum is pretty good.. and free, don't park in the garage-they charge, park on the street, that way its free.
Zona Rosa sucks, don't bother.
Country Club plaza, lots of shopping and eating..
Cool crest mini golf is off 40 hwy in Independence. Good for mini golf and video games.
Legends is good too, constantly growing.
Science City and Union Station.
Kansas City really isn't that great... I've been here way too long!

The zoo is not all that nice... I would sugest the ledgends. They have a huge mall and a movie theater. They also have this hotel where the rooms all have theams. That is really fun. But the ledgends is bar far one of the best things there
