No because even if the lizard is cheap it will not be cheap to maintain.

There is no such thing as a large lizard that is cheap to purchase & cheap to raise properly.

Consider a leopard gecko instead.

Iguanas are cheap to buy; but expensive to keep. They do get large. But your looking at a 20 year commitment with an ig. Also lots of money in vet bills and building huge cages. I just spent 400 dollars on upgrading the cage of one of our igs. She is a little over 5 feet long; but it is expensive to set up a proper habitat for a lizard that big.

Some are cheap to buy but with the set up and food and yearly UV bulbs to buy, it's not cheap anymore. Add the cost of electricity in (leaving lights on for 12 hours a day), and thats an additional $50 a month just for light costs.

blue tongued skinks for 10 dollars? i HIGHLY doubt that. anyways, cheap and large youre looking at a green iguana, but i would never reccomend them as a pet. depensing upon what you consider "large" and "cheap", a bearded dragon is most likely what you are looking for. they are usually in the 20" range, and hatchlings can be bought for 3-40 dollars. since exporting them from aus is illegal, you dont have to worry about getting a wild caught one, but i reccomend you buy from a reputable dealer and not petco/petsmart/any other pet store that does not have experience in reptiles. if a bearded dragon is not what you are looking for, give me some more specifications and i can find something that better suits your needs and experience.

YES...most baby iguanas sell for 10 to 15 dollars, very cheap, because you know they can get up to 6 feet (cheap large lizard)

It depends. I can get blue tongue skinks where I live at for $10.00 and they get up to 24 inches long. The pet store where I live at breeds lizards and sells the babies so I can get them very cheap. I got a blue tongu skink for $10.00. A sand fish skink for $15.00. A bearded dragon for $25.00. A pair of year old leopard geckos for $25.00.

The cheapest of the large lizards would be the common Green Iguana.. Depending on the source, you can purchase one for as little as $10.00

Iguanas might be cheap to buy but they ARE expensive to care for properly. They get to be up to 6 foot and can live 15-20 years with PROPER care. Please research any animal that you get.
