Green: Independencia (independence from Spain)
White: ReligiÃ³n (religion, the Roman Catholic faith)
Red: UniÃ³n (union between the Europeans and Americans)

or the new version

Green: Hope
White: Unity
Red: Blood of the national heroes

There is no official symbolism to the colors.

White-Equalite (equality)
Green-Liberte (liberty)
