alright, i wanna see a movie with my friend in the city and my mom doesnt really want me riding the subway alone (though its like 5 stops). anyone got some kind of idea on how to get her to let me ride the subway and/or to somehow make her think i'm riding it with a friend or adult? I'm not some 13 year old kid just trying to disobey my parents. i'm of age to be able to do these things on my own, shes just way too overprotective. i'm 16. i think thats old enough to be allowed to ride the subway 5 STOPS!!!

It really depends on how bad the neighborhood is you are in. Your mom may have good reason to not want you to go. Ask her to drive you there. If she doesn't drive ask her to take the subway with you.
