I think being too critical is a sign that a person is very unhappy with themselves, therefore they find fault in others.

I'm critical of what i put in my childs mouth. She will reach her 7th birthday free from artificial colours, sweeteners, momosodium glutamate and a few other things.
So critical that when she goes to birthday parties she will take her own juice. Just in case.
The world can think of it as snobbery. I couldn't care less!
But i agree to some degree with what someone else said that it is a form of fear. In my case it is fear of the unknown. The food industry doesn't have any idea how all the crap they put into food will affect a developing nervous system . They are blinded by profits. And in the case of MY offspring, THAT is scary.

I guess whoever said that meant that if you are critical or judgemental about others, it implies that you think that you are right and that is a form of snobbery, thinking that you are somehow better than the person who you are being critical of. Hope that helps.

It could be trying to bolster your own worth by pulling someone else down. A quick fix but bad karma! :o)
