Proper way is down I always shave down but there are some tricky parts like on the beard that you have to go up also on your neck you shave up you will know once you start trust me.

I guess just shaving will get you more hair I never shaved for wanting to get hair only when I started to grow it like at 14 1/2 15 years

It's best to shave in the direction your beard grows so that you don't get ingrown hairs that might get infected (even though you get a closer shave the other way).

You only get the follicles you were born with. But be patient, it takes some guys well into their 20's before their beards actually fill out.

1. Shave with the grain to avoid razor burn and nicks/spots.

2. Nothing can change the number of follicles you have or the strength of the hair that grows from them. It's all genetics.

1) Shaving with the grain is easier, less painful, and results in fewer nicks. Going against the grain gets you a much closer shave, and to my mind is the way to go... after practice and experimenting with different shaving creams or soaps the nicks become rare (I use Olay Creme Ribbon body wash to shave with... it has almond oil and i get zero cuts with it).

2) Pray really hard. You will sprout more hairs as you age and that is the only way...

I shave up-- you get a much closer shave. I don't get burns as some do tho.

How to increase follicles-- up testosterone levels, some meds have side effects of increased body hair, but it's not worth it.
