Those other methods noted, may help you somewhat with your issue, but the way I have always done it is:

Start -> Run command -> Type in msconfig -> Goto the Startup tab at the very end -> Browse the startup Item, and Command tabs for things that you may want to have startup.

Everything else can be unchecked. Also if you want, you can hit the deselect button to remove all checked boxes.

Follow up with an Apply -> Ok, and restart your computer to see if this helps with the load time.

Hope this helps! :)

1. Remove them from your startup folder.

Or.

2. select programs you wanted to start in "Startup" Tab in System Configuration Utility.

To do this...
1. Go to Start->Run. Type in msconfig.
2. Click on Startup Tab
3. Uncheck those programs that you don't want to start when you start your computer.

Good Luck!

go to start run then type msconfig. go to the startup tab. disbale the programs you want to disable. Restart after you hit ok. If this does not disable all you want, go into each program and somewhere in the options you should have a "start on start up" box or option.

Hi. Click "Start> Run>" and type 'msconfig' in the window then OK. A window will open with one tab which controls Startup files. Un-check the ones you know you want to stop. OK. Then reboot.

open up each program they usually have an option to run or not at windows start up
If they haven't got that choice you can stop them by clicking start >run and typing msconfig then on the startup tab remove ticks out of programs you don't want to start be careful you don't want to disable a firewall or anti-virus
also click start >all programs >startup any file in this folder will run at start up just drag it out to stop it running at windows start up
