here is my story
few months after 9/11 I was having an espresso coffee when a muslin person initiated a conversation about the same.
after a while he begin to tell me the 9/11 was a Jew's conspiracy to make the muslin world look bad.
I pointed to him that a great percentage of people who die in the world trade center were Jew and he could even confirm that by researching the names.
at that point he became very angry and begin to push me around ( i am much older than him and he knew that) and threaten my entire family.
is this a hate crime?

I know he represents himself and not the other muslin people that i know

Any crime against another person is a crime period.
Why the hell do we now try to categorize crimes as hate crimes.
I'm white,straight, christian,and I have a home.If a crime was committed against me,it isn't a hate crime?Why is it any less important then a crime committed against a gay,a black-person,, a Jewish or Muslim person, or a homeless person?

I had a rock thrown through my livingroom window with the words "Die Dyke" written on it. I've also had people yell things at me while walking with my girlfriend, and a Soda thrown on me for being a "lesbo." I'm not one to let peoples petty ignorance bring me down, but it is disapointing that people can live and let live. I don't ask for anything but a little respect.

Yes. sadly :-( My friend and her partner had to leave a small town after the townspeople turned against them. Their car was vandalized several times, and dead animals were thrown on their doorstep. Prank phone calls went uninvestigated by the police. (I'll add that this was all by adults...the kids in town liked this couple)

It wasn't very grisly, but one night as I was walking to the corner store, a black guy I'd never seen before socked me in the eye as I passed by. I asked him why he did it and he said, "Because you're white and you're from Texas." I tried to talk to the guy, find out what had happened to make him so bitter, but he just kept walking away. Poor guy.

WE All are victims of hate crimes.
it is phucked when a black man can say the N WORD,,and if a whiteman says it, It is a racial comment.Do you ever hear a white man call another white man cracker or whitie.say hey cracker. this is what we were thought as childern. wether you was thought hate or love

A friend of mine was beaten with a lead pipe. She had been out to a bar w/ some friends. My friend is rather androgynous, and it's not hard to tell that she fancies women. A couple of drunk guys @ the bar beat the **** out of her because they thought she was checking out their girlfriends (she wasn't).
Another friend of mine got beaten up in the men's room @ another bar by a group of college guys, just because they THOUGHT my friend was gay (he's not).
Stop the hate!!!

My grandmother is a survivor of the holocuast. He family was killed before her one by one and at the age of 14 fled from country to country all alone and worked in many labor camps. Shes affected for life. anytime she hears a sound she jumps (she remembers the guns going off)

I lost a lot of relatives in Nazi Germany--2nd uncles, 2 cousins, ( although I was not born yet) my mother has told me the stories. It is something she never forgot or forgave. She too was taken prisoner and beaten and realeased. The stories are horrifying , stories of survival.
