I was a history major myself. I think you need to ask yourself two questions in choosing a minor:
(1) What am I interested in (other than history)?
This is because you'll do better in classes that cover a subject matter you enjoy.
(2) What am I planning on doing with my history degree?
You can learn more about your future career by balancing your history major with a complementary minor.
Don't take something you don't enjoy just because someone tells you it's something you should do. You'll simply do better if you can find something that really interests you and rounds out your education.

Political Science. Polysci allows you to get a better grasp on why history happened the way it did. Often, historians can get a little too centered on the details, having a knowledge of the politics of the era (no matter what period of history you are studying). I was a PolySci major, with a history minor. I also have a MA in history and am now in library school. The combination has worked well for me.

Ever considered geography? It's undeniable that land features, natural resources, and how people adapted to living in many different areas had a major role in history.

You could do one of a number of things:
a) take a related discipline such as political science, philosophy or economics
b) take the traditional "other discipline" for librarianship, English, or, as libraries are becoming so dependent on computer information systems take computer science
c) keep your options open and yourself broad by taking a quite unrelated discipline, e.g. one of the physical sciences
