you stopped picking things up off the floor that you had just dropped, kissing it off to God, and then eating it?

Who exactly teaches kids to do that, by the way??? I don't remember where I learned that, but yes, I did it when necessary. I REFUSE to contemplate the types or amounts of potentially fatal microbes I ingested doing this... But maybe having survived doing it proves that kissing dropped foodstuff off to God really works.

Doctors are welcome to opine.

Is it OK for a nurse to opine?
I never heard this expression until I moved to PA. So far kissing it up seems to work. Have you not considered the 5 second rule! Great question!

Is this where the 10 second rule comes into play? I've never heard of what you're writing about, but I'm guessing it's the same thing?

I've actually never heard of kissing things off to God. I always used the five second rule (and still do!).

It depends solely on where I am:
Public places- heck no
Other peoples homes-still no
My home-only if its hard candy that falls on clean carpet like a lollipop or something.
