First the people need to ask why we are in Iraq to begin with. Please do not say terrorists or 9/11 because that has NOTHING to do with Iraq. If you think it does then please just keep that nonsense to yourself. I am a veteran of this pointless war and I personally have lost close friends, yet I can stand here and say this war is not in the U.S.'s best interest. We have way too many problems here that we should be focusing our funding on.

I agree with you. The situation is a mess. To protest against what we see as abuse of power is our civil right as American citizens. I get tired of hearing this crap from the Neo Con far right that if you don't support the war you don't support the troops. I fought as a Marine. Vietnam was a mistake from start to finish. The protest movement kept the death toll from rising any higher. At some point you have to cut your losses and see casualities as more than raw data. They are the children in the Christmas play in grade school, the choir boy, the eagle scout and the little pigtailed girl who loved to play soccer against the boys. This is not WWII, no matter how the other side tries to play it up. After Afghanistan(which did make sense, and no oil) we lost our way. This is a war over oil. Why else would we be there?

I agree, lets pull out and leave Iraq for the terrorists. I live in a town of less than 5000. No tall buildings, no Intl. airports. Not very target rich. So I really dont have any concerns about what the Terrorist will hit in a couple of years after they have had a chance to rebuild and organize.

God Bless the soldiers who are over there! They are serving because they volunteered to go into the service. Can't you see that if the cowards win and they pull the soldiers out now that everyone is in Danger?! The fascists in those countries have already told us what their plans are, and I for one, do not want to be wearing a berka and watching my friends in this country get beheaded because of their beliefs. Not evey islamic person is bad, so no one should hate them all(I have friends who are islamic). People should let the soldiers do their jobs and when the work is finished then they should come home. Thanks to the soldiers who are over there. I appreciate them. What they are doing is important!

First, No One is "Anti Peace".
There is a legitimate disagreement about the preferable way to secure a Lasting Peace.
Many people believe that establishing a democratic governments in the Mideast would go a long way towards stemming the tide of terrorist attacks on Western civilians.
Please feel free to disagree, but please don't be so arrogant as to think your opinion is the only one with any thought or reasoning behind it.

I think you hit a nerve. I can't wait to see these boards when the republican senators with half a brain start jumping ship to save their own butts when the elections draw closer.
How sweet it is. I never thought I would live to see this day, the GOP imploding. The arrogance, audacity and greed are finally coming home to roost for everyone to see.

"Anti peace?"
Sometimes peace is achieved through growing a spine and acting like you have one in the face of your enemies.
But people who claim that self-defense is "anti peace - pro-war" are just surrender-monkeys who are willing to compromise with terrorists and freely hand over our national sovereignty and our way of life. I suppose that where Iraq is concerned, we could withdraw and leave the Iraqi people to civil war and genocide and the region to further destabalization, but most of us who are "anti peace" actually care about the welfare of those people and their safety beyond our presence.

how come now that people are for the war they are now anti peace? i don't think that anybody actually wants there not to have peace. i personally don;t think war is immoral, not being a soldier is immoral, but the whole concept. but people aren't anti peace just because theyre pro war. obviously you have a very strong opinion on anti war and thast fine but don;t think everyone else is destructive and terrible. i'm not sure youve noticed, but were helping a country out we took out their oppresser and if we leave now there will be chaos. yes we are dying for it but hundreds and thousands more innocent people there will die if we leave

Well said. Cons are exposed for what they are - heartless little weenies with less than a sufficient number of squirrels running the intelligence processing stack.
