I finished my period about 2 1/2 weeks ago. When my boyfriend and I had sex the past few weeks I would begin spotting and it had a foul odor. I was very concerned after it continuing for a week so I called my sister who is a midwife. She asked me a couple of questions and I wasn't a 100 percent truthful with her. I didn't say it had an odor or that it was only spotting during/after sex.
I went to go visit her this past weekend and she gave me an exam. She saw that I had left a tampon in there. She pulled it out for me....thank gawd! I was so embarressed, but she said it was common. She said that I should stick to pantie liners on my light days instead of the slender tampons.
Has this happened to you?

I'm just glad that's all it was and not an STD....!

No, it hasn't happened to me but I rarely use tampons anyhow, I prefer pads except on very hot summer days I don't like the pads.
Which probably means I'm more at risk to forget some day, since I'm not really used to using the tampons... but it hasn't happened yet! ::knocks on wood::

I have had the spotting after my period and intercourse but I have not forgotten a tampon in there yet. I am sure it's nothing to worry about, just be thankful that you didnt get toxic shock syndrome.

Thank God it was only a tampon and nothing serious.
But no this has never happen to me...because i don't use too much of tampons.
Best wishes

That is a common occurrence with women. Be glad you didn't have to go to the er to have it removed.
