Things I keep on hand at all times:

-chlorine tabs
-pH add (soda ash) and pH decrease (dry acid)
-alkalinity plus; maybe alkalinity minus (although I've never used any such product and never noticed any to buy)
-some bags of shock
-vacuum, either automatic or manual
-skimmer net, one with flat netting and one that is an actual "basket" (I use the flat one for small jobs, the basket net for large skimming jobs, for example windy days.)
-chemical test kit
-and the equivalent of diatomaceous earth for my filter, you'll need to keep sand on hand for your filter, as I understand most above-ground pools utilize sand filters.

Just about the same chemicals you need to maintain an in ground pool. You need chlorine and a test kit to ensure that the chlorine level is right. You need a pH test kit to ensure the water is not too acid or alkali and corrective chemicals if it is. You also need a large net to lift off any debris floating on the top or in the water. You need a filter system to keep the water circulating and filtered. You also should have some means of vacuuming the bottom of the pool.

believe it or not if you have a pressure washer or a tank with a pump you can use outdoor bleach from home depot ,it smells horrible but it does the job better than any other chemical out there fill the tank up up bleach and spay it all the way around the pool and on the outside of the pool and it will kill all the allergy and fungas. let it sit for about 10 min and rinse off with a water hose or power washer
