I just bought 1gb of DDR 2 ram. It is suppose to be running at 533mhz. My motherboard, ECS P4M900T can support up to 667mhz ram. How can I get my RAM speed to 533mhz, like it is suppose to run? Is there a setting in BIOS to do this? I have a celeron d 356 processor that runs at 533mhz, so I want my RAM speed to match it.

It is double data rate, that is correct speed.
I refer you to page 15 of the motherboard manual.

Installing Memory Modules
It can support two 240-pin
DDR2 667/533/400. The total memory support capacity is 4 GB. You must install at least one module in any of the two slots. Each module can be installed with 2 GB of memory; total support memory capacity is 4 GB.

probably because you installed it along with your old ram that is probably running at the slower 333Mhz. If you use two different speed sticks of ram, the system will clock the faster of the two down to the speed of the slower ram. Remove the old stick to and you should see the speed increase.

Hi. If your BIOS allows it, turn off "auto detect" for the RAM and set the speed to 533. And pay attention to "Steve". He's right.
