Sports Illustrated has obtained information that Eddie Guerrero received anabolic steroids in early 2005. He died in November 2005 from an enlarged heart. After he died, everyone cried and said how great he was and he had given up his use of drugs. People still treat him as though he did nothing wrong and should not have died. Now that we know that this is not the case, are people still going to stick their head in the sand and ignore the fact that he still was using drugs that lead to his death? IMO, he is no different than a neighborhood crackhead that smoked too much crack and died. People like this are not supposed to be role models for anyone, especially children.

OK, so for everyone who said that Eddie was a great person, that means that you knew him personally, right? I mean, it was well documented that when he became a "practicing" Christian, he admitted to his wife that he cheated on her. Is that the mark of a good man? I am a fan too, but I don't like liars and drug addicts. My favorite wrestler of all time is SCSA, but he has admitted to steroid use and for that I do not hold him as a role model and would not want my kids to either. Eddie got caught up in the underside of the business. He let his addictions kill him, all the while feeding garbage and lies to the fans about cleaning himself up. That is inexcusable to us the fans, but also to his family who have to pick up the pieces. As for the person who said he was being "treated," he never saw the doctor that was giving him the stuff. He ordered them on the internet. Even the WWE acknowledges that is not proper in their Wellness Program and he would have been suspended if he were alive.

When someone comes forward and says they have given up drug abuse, that means all of them. Not just the ones they want to.

Eddie had no lingering injuries that would not have been better treated with a little time off and some recovery. Doctor's use steroid treatment primarily for AIDS and cancer patients to build up their red blood cell count and strentgh, not for people with sore muscles. For those people, doctor's recommend anit-inflammatories and rest. But of course, you do actually have to go to the doctor to be examined, not just email them with a request.

Go ahead and yell or curse at me but to me that would make you all very ignorant.........I couldn't agree more about Guerrero or any other fool that allows themselves to be ruled by drugs because they are so weak minded...........He was no different than a neighborhood crackhead or any other druggie...........It's so unfortunate that there are so many "users" in all types of sports........To me the worst is there are so many kids that look up to all sorts of sports players and make them heroes..........Sorry, but I don't want any kid of mine worshiping a druggie.......What kind of a message does this send to this kids????..........

Again, I couldn't agree more with the person that had the guts to ask this question...............CAT

Eddie might have received the steroids from the doctor while he was injured. I don't think Vince and the WWE have a problem with this since it was under a doctor's care. Steroids can be used to help a body heal in such cases of muscle damage and other things.

It is not a secret that Eddie abused drugs and alcohol during his career. I think he did a awesome job in rehab so he come to his family and fans as the old Eddie, not the one that was on drugs.

True, Eddie Guerrero did of an overdose. Just because you die of drugs does not make you a bad person. I've known alot of people that died of drugs, or have totally screwed up their lives from it. But they were not bad people. He was a good wrestler. No, he shouldn't have lied to the fans and his family, and he could have easily overcome his addiction.
Not everyone is going to be perfect. No matter who you idolize, that person has probably done bad things. There is always bad along with the good.
And remember, his motto was, "Lie, cheat, and steal." It just happens to be ironic how true that lie was for him.
I didn't know him personally, but what makes a man isn't how many bad things you do in life. It's taking care of his responsibilities and doing what it takes to get there. Eddie Guerrero had guts. That's why he's still loved today. And, when a famous person such as him dies, he is forever an icon.
Examples: Princess Diana, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, JFK, Selena, Tupac (if he's really dead or not nobody knows), Anna Nicole Smith, Jimi Hendrix
Alot of them (not all) died of drugs, and they are still loved today.
