regardless of what some people steryotype it to be, emo is simply a person who is deep and emotional at times.. no it doens't mean chronically depressed.. emo people are happy alot... most of them are silly, goofy, fun-loving people most of the time.. but they just have a streak that has deep thoughts on things most people overlook and focus on stuff alot.. and they are true about their emotions.
its not a bad thing!

So basically you're calling yourself something that you don't even understand? Emo can be described as a person who is into rock music that's more about anger at yourself, less at the world, and includes relationships with other people. Most emos don't just wear dark colors, but wear what they feel like for that particular day. Not all emos are suicidal (like the stereotype), but most do hate their life. Lastly a lot of people tend to hate on people who dress or think that they are emo.
Also here's a little advice, don't try stereotyping things that you yourself do not completely understand. Hopefully I helped u a little bit about what emo is, and helped inform you to make the decision on whether you are emo or not.

an emo is someone who is always depressed and cuts them self and most of the time there emo cital which means there suicidal but most emos dont just have the hair they have the skinny jeans and vans shoes hope this helps

Why would you ask this question if you already know the answer? If you are part emo, you should know, shouldn't you? Or maybe you are not quite sure what you are and am having a identity crisis. Or something. I don't know.

Emo is about as cool as Elmo! In other words it's not. It's a bunch of dumbasses that think they are "deep" and want to appear to be troubled, and they like to think they are "different" when they are just like every other emo out there.

Ok, I think you should know what it is if you are one, but anyway, emo means
a) Emotional
b) Depressed, cross dressing, dark eye liner wearing, cutter who has nothing better to do but whine
c) Freaky people who get together and do drugs and wear tight pants

lol. emo was originally the shortened way to say someone that listens to "emotional music" but has now deleloped into someone who is very emotional or moody, usually inflicts self pain (cutting) or plans out their own death and stuff.
p.s. i love "emo hair" hahahahaha. >.<
