Plants, Caves etc will not save the fry(the babies). A ziploc bag may work for a short period of time. But you will still have to scoop the babies in to that because if you leave the mother with them she will eat every single one of them. Good Luck

Put them in a glass flower vase, like the wide bottom ones you can get at a craft store. My coworker has adopted out many a guppy around the office by putting them in vases for everyone. She'll mix up some big and some smalls together and for the most part they do well. Some die off and some are survivors. I started out with 7 and have 2 left, going strong and they were the babies in the beginning.

Well, I worked at a PetCo for two years and the best thing that I can recommend for you to do is take the female guppy that is having babies and put her into what is called a breeding net. It's a cube size net that's maybe 5in by 5in that just hangs on to the side of the tank. You can keep the female and the babies in there until they grow large enough so the males, if you have nay in the tank, won't eat them. If you want to keep them there is also a powder baby fish food that you can use especially for them.

I extremely have been breeding guppies for years, and the girls people can supply start everywhere from 10 to one hundred toddlers at one time, all of it varies on the female itself such because of the fact the age, the size and her ecosystem. remember the female guppy will eat her very own toddlers, so it ought to account for an extremely low form of youngsters. So with the intention to sidestep or cut back that, placed her in a v seize which permits the toddlers to drop into yet another compartment in the previous she has a gamble to eat them and placed some floating food (Betta food) to maintain her distracted and get rid of her and the food as quickly as she is complete birthing. while you're letting her supply start in the main substantial tank with different fish, opportunities are high that the different fish are eating the toddlers.

It will be fine, putting the mom in a breeder tank while having babies only stresses her out. The babies will hide in amongst plants and caves and some will survive.

Don't worry too much about it, as long as you have plants and decorations in the tank some of the fry will survive.
And I know this is going to sound really cruel.
Even if they don't survive she's going to be giving birth again in a month.
Good luck.

do you have a kitchen strainer....you know, it has a handle with a kind of screen to strain things with ......maybe you could scoop them up and keep them in there, but in the same tank....they would be separated from the other fish.
