I don't know I have never put a spike in my coffee, would that turn to rust, like when you put the spike in your coke

Ha ha, I always used to ask this when I was a kid.
In reality, no. Caffeine is a very weak stimulant whereas alcohol is a powerful depressant. So the alcohol wins.
