It obviously depends on what you are looking for.
DO you want 1 or 2 bedrooms
do you want a house or an apartment.
Do you want a newer house (better insulation) or an older house.
DO you have pets (more money) or kids (which means you need a bigger space).
A better answer will probably require more information but more importantly, WHAT CAN YOU AFFORD!
write down a list of your current bills.
add those up and subtract them from your income.
add about 300 to that figure for your water, phone and electric bill if you are not currently paying those, the difference can be the MAX you can afford to pay in rent.
