I've seen every part of the lip pierced except for the webbing, though I'm sure that it is possible too. Yes, it is painful, but you should be okay with that going into it. I've never heard of a reputable piercer using any type of numbing device unless it was for something like piercing the back of your throat which can gag you. I wouldn't trust a piercer who uses numbing creams or sprays.

its not that painful, really. decision for placement of jewellery takes a couple of minutes, then, once decided, one deep breath in, and out, and the piercing will have taken place. Another breath in, and out and the jewellery will be in place. Done! you will feel it but its discomfort rather than pain. your lip will swell slightly for 2,3 or possibly 4 days after that healing completely will take approx 2 weeks whe you can have a more appropriate length bar fitted. During the healing, rinse after eating with mouthwash and bathe externally with a solution, half a tsp sea salt disolved in half a pint boiling water, allow to cool obviously! this can be kept covered for up to 24hrs, but ialways just make fresh and use when its warm. you really do not need to be numbed for this, i have a medusa, and a labret, Go for it!! good luck

If you want to get it pierced, you need to accept that pain is involved. Its part of the whole piercing thing. There aren't many places that will numb you.

You can get it peiced anywhere on your lip and they can numb it just to make sure you ask for it to be numbed because not all places will ask you. And, if you don't say anything they will not numb it. And, as I am told its doesn't really hurt eirther!
