The Conservative (Republican) Agenda has brought so much criticism from the Left voiced by the left wing mainstream media and the "elite" educational facilities it causes the middle-of-the-road conservatives to run for cover and act as if they were Liberals. Why is this?

Don't know - re: tax policy I see nothing that one would have to be "defensive" about - - the record speaks for itself: the rich are richer but there are a lot more of them and most of the rest of us are richer too - there are more poor people but the increase is 1/3 the increase in poor foreigners living here illegally.

I don't agree. Who criticizes the US. France ( that's a joke ) Germany. ( murdered 6 million Jews in the last 60 yrs) The Bozo in Venezuela. I'll trust my countries leaders like Mr Bush.

maybe thats because they realize that they made a mistake, or because they don't want to be associated with a group that clearly only has the interest of straight, white, rich, Christian males in mind.

How do you know when someone is lying to you? They get defensive. That's what going on right now with the Republicans.
Think about it: "Hey Neil, did you eat the last donut?"
