When the Trooper arrived, it became famous for it and more people bought it, but by 2003, it died and sales decreased. Why did the sales decrease? Should the Trooper come back?

Isuzu's are just re badged Chevy's and I think the general public has caught onto that. Why pay a premium for a re-badged Trail blazer?

Sales decreased b/c the Troopers were old technology that showed its age by the time it was taken off the market in 03. How long can you honestly sell the same car with mild updates from its inception and call it new? When its reliability and drivability are far below anything in its direct competition. By 2003 the Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander/4runner, and even its American contenders at Ford were surpassing Isuzu in every facet.

Should it come back thats your opinion? Will GM bring it back, highly unlikely, with the financial mess GM is in, the question should be is Isuzu as a brand going to stick around?

The Isuzu Trooper was plagued with GM troubles. The Trooper has a GM engine and trans, not built to the reliable Japanese standards. They were plagued by engineering design shortfalls and generally earned a reputation as the shoddy Japanese auto maker.
If the Trooper comes back it should be marketed and designed by one of the big three in Japan, Toyota, Nissan, or Mazda.

Marketing. Toyota and Honda have huge advertising budgets. They also have really great cars. Isuzu got a bad rap a few years back when independent testing found that their SUV's had a tip-over tendency. I think they are still fighting that.

Because the other Japanese automakers came out with better products, particularly in the SUV department.

They shot themselves in the foot a few years back in commercials..."we don't BUILD cars...we build TRUCKS!".

Well, see what happens to Ford, GM and Chrysler when you put all your egg's in 1 SUV/TRUCK basket...

You go HUNGRY!
