sure
Glycolysis is a metabolic pathway by which a 6-carbon glucose (Glc) molecule is oxidized to two molecules of pyruvic acid (Pyr). The word glycolysis is derived from Greek γλυκύς (sweet) and λύσις (rupture). It is the initial process of most carbohydrate catabolism, and it serves three principal functions:

The generation of high-energy molecules (ATP and NADH) as cellular energy sources as part of anaerobic and aerobic respiration.
Production of pyruvate for the citric acid cycle as part of aerobic respiration.
The production of a variety of six- and three-carbon intermediate compounds, which may be removed at various steps in the process for other cellular purposes.

Glycolysis is the set of reactions that break down glucose into two molecules of pyruvic acid (or pyruvate). It happens in the cytoplasm of the cell. Glycolysis needs 2 ATP of energy to get started (activation energy), but it produces 4 ATP. So there is a net gain of 2 ATP. Glycolysis also sends hydrogens to the electron transport chain, carried there by the carrier NAD.

After glycolysis, if oxygen is present, many cells will continue with aerobic respiration. If oxygen is not present, many cells will continue with fermentation.

Glycolysis is a way of breaking down glucose in to pyruvic acid. It produces two untis of pyruvic acid. This is a precursor to the citric acid cycle, or krebbs cycle. This is another reaction that gathers ATP and helps support the electron transport chain.

glycolysis is breaking down something, the exact opposite of synthesis-making something

the respond is maximum possibly D. A is fake, because of the fact glycolysis is used in respiration and for this reason makes use of oxygen, no longer freeing it. whilst oxygen is mandatory for the period of respiration, that's no longer inevitably fed on, and is not any longer the function of glycolysis. determination C is inaccurate because of the fact as respiration produces ATP, adenosine triphosphate, a phosphate compound used to offer capability, the initiating isn't an inorganic phosphate, so as that ought to be eradicated. not one of the different options are ultimate, so that's not one of the above.
