Depends on where you go. I enjoyed the mountians in the North. Tag-a-tay (I am sure I am misspelling this) is a great place. I prefer the Philippines to most Asian countries as they really do like Americans. I am in love with the fruit there and the Pineapple is AMAZING!!!!
The one gripe I have is Philippino food is almost all based on a dare. Pandesol is great but most of the other stuff I do not like. The good news is there is American fast food places everywhere. For a change I would reccomend the Smiling Budda in Makati City.

My country is what i call home! It's probably not the best the world has to offer, but nothing beats the feeling of living in the Philippines and all that it offers: beautiful places and women, cheap food and means of entertainment, quite cheap cost of living compared to a lot of other countries, corrupt government, unstable politics, terrible crime rate in big cities, traffic that will drive you nuts... name it it's all here.
This is the place to experience and live life to the fullest... not just the good ones but even the bad. Maybe in a few years time our country will be progressive... maybe not... maybe never. Nevertheless, the Filipino spirit will always be strong and our country and its people will still achieve greatness in all fronts at one point or another.

The philippines is an awesome place to visit for me. I am from the United States and I am white. I am 87 years old and I have an attraction for much younger asian women. The philippines is the perfect place to go for me. The women there always treat me like a king! Where else can an old chap go in this world where so many asian women treat old guys so good. Certainly not in the USA. I have tried getting asian girls to date me there but it is impossible. Asian girls in the USA treat old guys like me like I am a freak or something. It has got to the point so that I don't even talk to asian girls here. I just go there and do that. As soon as I get off the plane in Manila I see girls checking me out. It's really great! I go there about two times per year. I am thinking to one of these days to marry me one. I just have to find the right one first. There is so many to choose from and I am so picky. I want the most beautiful one on the inside, like me.
Other than that, I don't know what to think about the philippines. Some of the food is alright. I like SMB. Of course I have to watch those beers since I already weigh over 385 lbs.. I also love the beach.

I love it! It's so different from being in the United States, theres so much history and tradition. The land is people, the language is very interesting and the people, amazing! The food is fresh and so delicious! You can get a little piece of everything, mountains, beach, farms, city and anything else in the Philippines.

I love it ! i live there 6 months of the year. The people are very friendly and the girls are the sweetest in the world !! I am constantly amazed that people who have so very little can find so much to smile about all the time!! I think there must be some kind of lesson there for those people in the west who fill their lives whith so much stress just to aquire " stuff" I work half the year now and spend the other half in that beautiful country just enjoying life !! I cant even imagine being happier !!

Philippines are adorable when it comes to girl-choosing, but it all honestly depends on the guy....if the guy is in love, he doesn't give a damn about who you are. so don't be hard on yourself and don't concider yourself a Philippine, concider yourself as an adorable girl with the sweet smile;)

on the plus side:
the people are great
some of the food is awesome (meat on stick, ummmm)
cockfights
mega mall (and the food court)
beaches! all the way around
some of the negatives:
it's HOT!
diesel fumes
traffic (espec. around manila)
the HEAT!
resorts, can't believe the prices
IT'S REALLY REALLY HOT!

i've been seeing this question for like every week..
what do i think of my country? it has a very unique land formation. unlike the other countries. true. look at the globe and you'll see how the philippines stands out from all the other countries.
