hi i'm 36 weeks and 1 day pregnant.
my baby has dropped into position and apart from not sleeping due to being so uncomfy, i'm beginning to feel anxious... the strange thing is i'm not entirley sure what about,
i'm very excited about the baby being here, i think it may be the actual birth i''m worried about. but then i think hey i can just get an epidural an i'll be fine.
has anyone else experienced these feeling an anxiousness and not been entirley sure why ?

I'm 36wks 1 day exactly too and my baby has also dropped. I'm also feel anxious sometimes, but can't always pinpoint why.

Sometimes i think its the birth, sometimes i think its because i'm worried about whether baby is going to be ok (i've nothing to suggest otherwise but i'm a bit neurotic like that) ,sometimes i think its the fact that in approximately a month i am going to be an actual parent to a little baby.

In reality its probably a combination of all those things with hormones added to the mix, for good measure! lol.

I always acknowledge my feelings of anxiety, take a breath, and try to think of my baby inside growing happily and preparing for the big day.

Best of luck to you and baby :)

That is normal. I was worry about the birth process too like how painful is the contraction, how soon should I ask for epidural, will I be able to feel anything, how long I will be in labor...

One thing I would suggest is "Knowledge is power". The more you understand the birth process, the more you will feel comfortable about it. If you have a chance, take a "Prepare Child Birth" class in your hospital.

At first, I was all about natural birth, meaning no drug and no surgery. But it turns out that I had a c-section. Baby and I are both doing fine (baby now is 20 days old)!

Good luck!!! Keep focus on having your lovely baby in your arms and touching his/her little fingers and toes and counting your blessing with your little angel.

Hon I'm 39 weeks with my SIXTH and I STILL get those feelings every time...even when you know the mechanics and basics of labor and have been through it, every birth (even in the same mother) is different, and there is still always that "unknown" factor of this could go wrong, that could happen...I had the first 3 w/o pain meds, once I discovered the epidural my world was awesome...LOL. So I have done it both ways and I'm not dogging med-free childbirth at all, but I'm saying knowing how great the epi worked for me eases alot of my worries...

expect to be anxious the rest of the way. you will have something very special coming into the world and changing your life. you will also sleep uncomfortably because your bladder gets squished by the baby so you will have to urinate often.
