I always fight w/ my bro about how anime is betteh than reg. cartoons

I dont think that u can compare. Cartoons are good just for laugh a little. . . but if u really want something good, not only for laugh but admire, enjoy, appreciate and a lot more of emotions and feelings u have to think in anime series.
I really think that anime is the best art.

Actually I do, but regular cartoons are in a different ball game all together.
Mostly regular cartoons are supposed to be funny with some 'read between the lines' humor in it.
Whereas anime is like an epic story that focuses more on human emotions and weaknesses. That's why they are geared usually for a more mature audience.

In my opinion, I like anime better because I think that anime is better entertainment. Anime has a better plot to it. Most cartoons don't have storylines, but anime has plot and can go on for over 100 episodes that keep continueing with the same plot, rather than having a new one in each episode like a cartoon would.

There are so many genres and sub-genres in both Anime and American animation that you can't just say one's better than another.
Look at FLCL, Ah! My Goddess, Fullmetal Alchemist, and LA Blue Girl. Compare those four shows to each other. Would you say they're all the same? Obviously not, except for the fact that their creators are all Japanese.
Likewise, look at Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Kim Possible, Dora the Explorer, and King of the Hill. How can you put those four in the same category? All they have in common is the birth country of their creators.
Beyond that, each show is completely different from the others. You have to take each show on its own merits.

I do, but that is only because the plots are often better. I like how deep most anime gets, while still keeping it lighthearted and funny at the same time. If american cartoons would do that, everyone wouldn't be switching to anime.
Also, they draw somewhat cuteish guys (all of my friends are obsessed)

Anime is better than the average cartoon because it actually has a story behind it, other then just idiots going around all day, doing something stupid. Also, it encourages reading (if you read subs!)

i like both but anime is mainly for a 10 and up audience, cartoons are for fun and enjoyment anime isn't as much ( with the exception of a few animes)

In my opinion, yes. I still like normal cartoons, however, like Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and Powerpuff Girls. :) So, yes, to a certian extent, anime is much cooler. Hope this helps!
