i think I was a 11 or just turned 12. I had a very bad back ache, which at the time I thought was from softball. I woke up one morning and there it was. Nothing big. Just told my mom she told me to get cleaned up, gave me proper products and on I went with my day. Just be sure you take back-ups with you if you are going to school or whever. I was a very heavy bleeder for usually 7 solid days.

These days, I know my period is happening because i gain about 3 - 4 pounds water weight, and my lower back hurts very bad like somebody has kicked me from behind.

you get your period anywhere from 9 to 16 years of age. depending on your body, you might not recognize whats going on. Some girls dont get cramps the first time, and they just find out when they go to the bathroom. Other girls, like me, will get cramps. But unless you've had them before, you dont know what "period cramps" feel like.

If you havent started yet but you fall into that age range, always keep a tampon or pad on hand, just in case. Even if you dont use it, your friends will ask you for one eventually.

Most girls get their periods between ages 8-16. Not too many girls can tell at first, but as they keep having them, you'll always notice the bleeding and the cramping and the bloating. Many times on the week before, your breast really start to hurt especially if you touch them or accidentally hit them on something.
