Who would want him on their team, considering his age, ineffectiveness last year, and constant legal problems?

I both agree and disagree with your point, yes Joey Porter is an *** and a huge headache. However, he is still a very talented player, he had a very good year last year and is still a very effective player. The problem becomes is his talent worth the off field issues? He gets shot one year, now he is attacking opposing players in Vegas, and he is always causing trouble running his mouth. I would want him on my team is his contract was filled with behavioral clauses that could cost him money for any issues that may arise. Who wouldnt want a talent like him on their team if he could stop being a thug?

funny I didnt hear people saying how bad he sucked the year before when he was anchoring the Super Bowl Champion defense. I find it laughable that everyone keeps saying he sucked last year. In reality, his stats have been very steady for 7 YEARS now.
On top of that, until now, Porter WAS the Steelers defense. In Miami, Jason Taylor is the man. You dont think that Porter is actually going to benefit from playing on a defense with such stars all around him, do you?
Zach Thomas is still a tackling machine, and if you dont know the name Channing Crowder yet, you will be the end of the season.
his age? He turns 30 this week, and he is actually YOUNGER than Adalius Thomas.

He has a problem with his ego. Lets too much stuff get him pissed off and as a result he goes off on people. Last year when Jeremy Stevens said the Seahawks would make Bettis's superbowl a disappointment because the Seahawks would win, Porter responded by calling the seahawks soft. Also that year Porter called the colts soft as well. Overall I think he has an anger problem and will never walk away from any fight and takes too many things personally.
My solution, anger management.

are u serious, he was awsome last year, and is one of the best in the league, i would want him on my team in a heart beat.
fine, u want some stats, 7 sacks, look at how many urlacher had, the "best" lineback in the leage. He can defend against the pass, considering he had 2 picks, which is ok. and he had freaken 55 tackles, not to bad. The 7 sacks is VERY impressive for a linebacker though, look at some other linebackers, Urlacher had 0, Zach Thomas had 3, Ray Lewis had 5. Porter is a GREAT linebacker. Last year may not have been his best year, but he certanly didn't suck, he is a great pass rusher, and can do some other things too.
So why don't other linebackers playing in a 3-4 defence have his numbers??? If you really think he sucked last year you must have not seen any of their games. Hes DEFINATLY a top 10 linebacker, I'd but him in top 5

Joey Porter thinks he's the ---- right now because he has a Superbowl ring. I think he's one of the most overrated LB's. His "game" is talking trash and guess who the Dolphins get to play next year....the AFC North...

Porter's mouth and stupid stuff like this overshadows anything he does on the field. Which hasn't been much the last 2 years.

Yes, Porter is in trouble again, but also notice that another Bengals player was involved. Those guys just can't get it together.

he got shot in the *** a few years ago in Colorado so he has to prove himself by being "badass" off the field as well so nobody will shoot him in the *** again
