Some type of playoff system is needed. There are about 100 bowl games, and it seems that the last game is played later and later each year. The thing is how would a playoff work? Would you only use ranked teams? Would you only use conference champs, giving teams like North Texas and TCU a chance? I don't know how a playoff could be done fairly in the short period of time after the season until the middle of January at the latest.

Bowl games are only good for only one reason. More than one team gets to win. Well what's the point of that? It's not compedative.
Can't have 2 super bowl champs, 2 stanley cups, 2 world series champs!
You can't make a bracket for football because it would take forever. You need a week to prepare your team. They should get a playoff system. FAST!

Yes. Have the top 8 teams in a playoff based on won-lost record against the best strength of schedule with an exception for independents and mid major teams as long as they have at least 2 "quality wins".

Definitely a playoff system. That solves the question once and for all. It works in NCAA Division 1 and NAIA, and would be a vast improvement over the bowl system which may not crown the rightful national champion.

BCS Bowl games suck big time.
Every other level in college football has a playoff system
D1-AA, D2 and D3 all except for D1. They need to change that format ASAP.

yes they need to do this. will they? no. too much $$ involved in the current system. easy fix. cut games off end of season. and start a playoff system. 1 game a week for teams. say 20 teams start. same matchup as basketball . play games in same locations as current bowl games. it would work. would be great.

I hate collage football but i had to answer this question.
Its retarted how collage has no playoff's, the HAVE to have the playoffs, all other collage sports has some kind of tornament, why not football, it just makes no sence to me

yeah because they bowl games suck you cant really tell who is the real national champion.

I honestly think that they should have play offs................well anyway playoffs are much better.
