He came and held her hand.
“What happened, Sammy?,” he asked her.
Suddenly, Sammy felt all better, and her fragile heart regenerated itself.
Giving a cold stare at Jones, she got up and told him, “Jones, meet my fiancé, Darien Chester.”
She kissed Darien and they got on a motorcycle and rode away, leaving Jones overwhelmed. "

On the morning of 9/11/01, I was on my way to Portland, Me for a training session sponsored by Goodwill Industres. As I was approaching Portland, I heard a news broadcast say that 2 planes collided at the WTC. I thought then that all the people on board must have been killed. Later in that day, I heard how one of the planes carried the kidnapper/killer Mohammed Atta and another who had stayed in Portland the night before. The news showed the picture taken inside (I believe) Burger King of the two of them waiting in line. Knowing that I was heading to Portland at the time they were boarding the plane almost paralyzed me. I'd never been that close to a major crime before.
