I"ve always been confused about the ending. Did this girl kill herself, or did she never fully recover from drugs?

She overdosed and it is left up to the reader to determine through interpretting the passages of her diary whether it was an accidental overdose or suicide

She died of a drug overdose - one could consider that killing themself, but it wasnt an intential suicide. There is doubt that this book is indeed a true story or a fictional one. As a child of the 60's, I have always thought it was made up to scare us from using drugs. C.

I believe the epilogue says no one knows for sure, just that she died of an overdose.
